Guido—
You’ll be happy to know that I haven’t blown myself up yet. I’m not that bad of a witch, you know. I have no idea why you doubt me.
Okay. So there was that incident with the frogs. That happened once— only once. And so what if your sister swallowed one? Chrissy’s swallowed a bunch of worms before and she turned out just fine.
So what if they were gummy worms? A worm is a worm.
Anyways, I’m writing to check up on you. You’re the only wizard in your family, remember that. You sure you’re not using your powers for your artwork? That’d be cheating.
But yeah, that’s pretty much all I’ve got to say. I’ll see you next month when I go home. You should try Beauxbatons sometime. It’s a really nice school.
Your cousin, Lorenzo
Lorenzo's quill hovered above the piece of parchment. She never liked being called "Lorenzo Mariel" though she got ticked off when people forgot the "Mariel" part. Was it being a hypocrite? Who knew? She finally sighed and set down the quill and folded the letter. She would get to the Owlery later. She scooted her chair back and wandered around the library. Tons of old books occupied the shelves. Lorenzo loved being a witch, but being in the library… eh. Nothing of interest came to mind when it comes to the Beauxbatons library. Yet there was nothing else to do. She had no friends at the school. That was the problem. Her parents were in Peru for summer vacation, her 21-year-old cousin Guido was working on some sculpture and couldn’t be bothered (with his little sister that would be mission impossible), and her brothers were in college. Nothing to do.
