Juliana had just arrived at Beauxbatons a few hours previously. She had no idea that the castle and grounds would be as big as they were. Juliana was from a poor family who lived in an apartment, and being in this mansion was quite a change for her. Being as curious as she was, Juliana couldn't help but to explore a little. She hadn't seen any students yet, but hopefully she would bump into someone and make a new friend.
It was spring, and the weather was nice out, so Juliana decided to walk around outdoors. After a short time of wandering, she reached a lake. She slipped her shoes off and sat down at the edge; every few minutes glancing over her shoulder to see if anyone else was there. What if she was the only student? It wouldn't be fun to be in a school with no one there. She was previously up in the common room of Malcour, and there weren't any students there either. Hopefully they were all in a place she hadn't checked yet.
She dipped her feet into the pool. The water was refreshing, and Juliana wanted to get in and swim. However, her bathing suit was all the way up in her dorm... four stories high up in the castle. So, she decided that instead of running up there to get it, she would just relax; while waiting for someone to stop by.

lorenzo mariel I been waiting for my dreams to turn into something I could believe in And looking for the magic rainbow on the horizon I couldn't see it Until I let go, gave in the love, watch all the bitterness burn Now I'm coming alive body and soul Feeling my world starts to turn
“There’s more to life than just pizza, David.” Lorenzo put her hands on her hips and gave her friend a knowing look. David’s bashful face looked both bashful and apologetic at the same time. “I’m sorry,” he replied, his voice sincere but goofy. He made an attempt at patting his spiky black hair down. “It’s just that… we’ve been friends for over a month, and… you know.” He blushed. Lorenzo gathered her hair into a ponytail for a few seconds before letting it drop again. “Yeah-huh, David, I doubt you’ll find a pizza parlor within miles of this place anyways.” She let her brown eyes settle on her friend with a “mysterious” sort of feeling. “Why are you interested in me anyways?” she asked. “I’m three years younger than you.” David twiddled his thumbs. “I just—… And you—… When I—… Never mind.” He started walking away before Lorenzo cut in front of him. “Wait, David…” David looked down at her hopefully. “Maybe I can… get back to you later?” David stared at his feet and shoved his hands in the pockets of his robes. “No thanks,” he answered quietly. “Being rejected once is enough, I don’t need a reminder.” He brushed past Lorenzo. This time she didn’t stop him.
“I feel horrible,” yelled Lorenzo, chucking a stone across the lake. “I feel idiotic.” Chuck. “I feel so stupid.” Chuck. “I feel—” She looked up. Apparently, she hadn’t been alone. A brown haired girl was on the other side of the lake. “Hi,” she blurted out. Well, no point in running away now. She had just blown it. Now she actually had to make conversation with this girl. Oh well— with luck, the girl wouldn’t actually like Lorenzo and leave her alone. On the other hand, David probably hated her, so maybe making another friend wouldn’t be that bad. Her feet felt like lead as she dragged herself around the lake. “I’m Lorenzo,” she said.
